Alex is a former Special Deputy Attorney General with the North Carolina Department of Justice.  Following graduation from law school, Alex joined the AG’s office where he was able to develop and hone his litigation skills for more than a decade. 

Throughout his career, Alex has been focused on all facets of civil litigation from the inception of the claim through the appellate process.  He has tried dozens of cases to verdict serving as the lead attorney (first chair) in almost all of those matters.   

Alex has wide experience in personal injury claims, wrongful death actions, trucking accidents, motorcycle accidents, slip and falls claims, premises liability/premises security issues, transportation engineering, fire and arson claims, as well as a variety of law enforcement claims.   

In addition to his trial work, Alex is an experienced civil and criminal appellate attorney with experience before the NC Court of Appeals and NC Supreme Court including appellate oral advocacy.

Alex is also widely versed in State Tort Claim litigation having served in the Tort Claims Section of the Attorney General’s Office for more than ten years.  He has presented on the subject multiple times.     

Outside of work, Alex enjoys spending time with his wife, Christine, and two boys, James and Luke.  Alex is also an avid supporter of the Wolfpack and enjoys a good historical novel when not chasing around kids.
