Emma Blackman joins Stephenson Law as an associate attorney focusing on a broad range of civil litigation matters. Prior to joining the firm, Emma gained experience handling a variety of civil law issues, including homeowners’ association disputes, contract disagreements, and personal injury cases at multiple stages of litigation. This experience has provided her with a practical understanding of the litigation process and the ability to effectively advocate for clients from initial case evaluation through resolution.

Emma earned her undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University and received her Juris Doctor from Elon University School of Law. During law school, she completed a legal residency with Bell Partners, Inc., where she also worked as a legal intern. In that role, Emma focused on contract agreements, business disputes, and litigation preparation. Working in a corporate legal environment strengthened her ability to assess risk, ensure compliance, and proactively address legal challenges—skills she now uses to assist clients with both preventative planning and dispute resolution.

While in law school, Emma also contributed to academic research alongside a professor, assisting with a published article examining the relationship between meat prices and poverty in America. This work reflects her interest in the intersection of law, economics, and social policy. Emma was an active member of several student organizations, including the Sports & Entertainment Law Society, the Fellowship of Christian Lawyers, and the Intellectual Property Law Club.

Originally from Johnston County, North Carolina, Emma moved to Raleigh to attend NC State and has remained in the area since. Outside of the office, she is an avid supporter of the NC State Wolfpack and the Boston Red Sox. She also enjoys traveling with friends and family and watching any Guy Fieri cooking show.
