Zachary Johnson focuses his practice on civil litigation, bringing a background in public service and courtroom advocacy. He joined the firm in 2025, with experience that includes serving as Associate General Counsel for the North Carolina Department of Public Safety. In that role, he advised state law enforcement agencies on matters of liability and was a BLET Certified Legal Instructor.

Zachary began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney, where he managed a busy caseload and prosecuted criminal matters involving domestic violence, traffic offenses, and juvenile law. During this time, he conducted countless trials. He earned his law degree from the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In college, he was named to the Dean’s List, served as an Associate in the Honor Court, and participated in the Stubbs Bankruptcy Clinic.

Zachary received his license to practice in 2020 and is an active member of the Wake County Bar Association.

Prior to entering higher education, Zachary served in the United States Marine Corps as a Bomb-Dog Handler. Awards include the Combat Action Ribbon, Operation Enduring Freedom medal, and the Navy Good Conduct medal.

Outside of the office, Zachary enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with family.
